Centro de Turismo is one of the newest major sites in what is known as the 'walled city' or Intramuros, located in the City of Manila. Managed by the Intramuros Administration, It is considered the central hub of Manila as Intramuros is the premier historical, cultural, and tourism destination for thousdands of tourists and especially locals. This comprehensive tourist hub features a museum that offers an immersive experience into the rich history, vibrant present, and sustainable future of Intramuros. Exhibits and historical artifacts will take visitors on a journey through the Walled City’s pre-colonial roots, its role as a Spanish colonial center, the devastation of World War II, its ongoing revitalization, and its future development. Bakunawa Fest makes history as the first film festival to screen in this venue with its giant curved screen in fruitful and exciting collaboration with NCCA;s Sentro Rizal Filipinas.

Cinematheque Centre Negros is located in Bacolod City - roughly an hour's flight from Manila. Administered by The Negros Museum and the Film Development Foundation of the Philippines, it is one of Bacolod's prime venues for art films, film educational screenings and film lectures. Cinematheque Centre Negros is one of the main venues of Bakunawa Fest's 9th edition. This year on our 11th edition, the Cinematheque once again becomes a home for Bakunawa Fest, the country’s pioneering festival for fantastic cinema. Here, the festival’s spirit of discovery and experimentation comes alive, transforming the space into a crossroads of imagination, from genre-defying shorts and world premieres to wild 'Excessive Dawns' and bold local visions.

Tucked inside the University of the Philippines Film Institute, the Videotheque has long been a hub for adventurous cinema; a space where students, cinephiles and the curious gather to explore films that challenge and inspire. Intimate and charged with energy, it’s a room that thrives on discovery. Every screening feels like an invitation to dive deeper into cinema’s possibilities. This year, the Videotheque once again becomes a stage for Bakunawa Fest, bringing the festival’s brand of daring, genre-bending films right into the heart of UP Diliman. Here, Excessive Dawn shines brightest: midnight movies, unruly visions, and outrageous spectacles that embody Bakunawa’s love for the excessive, strange and free expression. The space amplifies the festival’s spirit of experimentation, proving that the boundaries of cinema are best tested where curiosity, education and community come together.

Known as a cultural landmark in Bacolod, The Negros Museum is a keeper of heritage; a living space where art, history and imagination converge. Within its walls, local stories are preserved and given new life, making it a vital ground for creativity in the Negros Islands Region. For Bakunawa Fest, the museum becomes a home for the festival’s Fringe exhibitions where cinema extends beyond the screen into installations, performances, and cross-disciplinary encounters. Here, the spirit of the festival spills into the visual, turning galleries into portals for the fantastic, the uncanny, and the experimental. By hosting Bakunawa Fest’s Fringe, The Negros Museum highlights its role as a cultural bridge: connecting tradition with innovation, and the community with the boundless landscapes of art.
TAOHAY NCCA CULTURAL CENTER & REGIONAL HUB

National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA)’s Cultural Center and Regional Hub in Iloilo is situated inside the historic Old Jaro Municipal Hall, a 90-year-old art-deco heritage building designed by architect Juan Arellano.
Under the new arrangement (formalized in February 2025), the hall becomes the first regional and cultural hub for NCCA in the country, tasked with serving as a center for cultural archiving, heritage conservation, and regional arts programming for Iloilo and Western Visayas. Bakunawa Fest was the first film festival to screen at the heritage and historic site during its 11th edition and will again screen fantastic films here for its 12th edition.
