SEASON 2024-2025
AUGUST 27 - SEPTEMBER 15, 2025
REW I BE KIND, REWIND
This marks one of our longest journeys through time, taking us as far back as twenty-eight years ago. This year’s REW (Be Kind Rewind) films transports us to 2020, 2021, and 1997 - the farthest we’ve ever gone since launching this section. ‘Autumnal Sleeps’ could have easily fit into our ‘Excessive Dawn’ lineup, had it been released a little later. Shot on expired 35mm film using a vintage Soviet camera, this mix of genres in one film experiments with a story centered on performing experimentations on adopted children.
TV Man, making its Asian premiere, is a true zero-budget, S-VHS analog exploration of a fantastical narrative of a man confronted by another speaking to him through a TV screen. Interestingly, its director Leonardo Valenti, has since found mainstream success, now a renowned screenwriter for Italian TV hits such as Distretto di Polizia, RIS – Delitti Imperfetti, and Romanzo Criminale, among many others.
All two films will intrigue fans of genre cinema, experimental storytelling, and underground filmmaking done by passionate filmmakers.
